What is St. Placid Priory?
St. Placid Priory is a community of Roman Catholic women living under the Rule of Benedict (a Benedictine Monastic community). The ministry of the Sisters is prayer and hospitality. As part of this ministry of hospitality, the Sisters offer space in their home for non-profit groups to meet.
Where we are located?St. Placid Priory is located just off I-5 in Lacey, Washington. It is five miles from Olympia, the state capitol, and within easy driving distance of the most scenic sights in the Pacific Northwest-Mt Rainier, Mt St. Helens, Puget Sound, the Pacific Ocean, the Olympic Rain Forest and the cities of Seattle and Portland, Oregon.
The closest major airport is SEATAC (Seattle-Tacoma) about 60 miles north. Airport shuttle service to the door is available locally.
The Priory and The Priory Spirituality Center retreat center/guest house are nestled in 33 wooded acres that seem miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are accessible by plane, train, bus and private automobile. See map.
Who can use our space?
Our conference rooms are available to non-profit groups such as government, school, and church groups. We are available for daytime group use Mon-Saturday. Meetings that extend to the evening are possible on an exceptional basis if the meeting can be concluded no later than 8 PM.
