FOUNDATION DAY

Each year at St. Placid Priory, we celebrate the foundation of our monastery on June 28, 1952. This year Sisters renewed their monastic promise, and new Oblates were received. Candidates Carlos Brosas and Liz Langeland, after a year’s preparation, made their oblations and became Oblates. Jolene Russell became an Oblate candidate, and Natasha Nay transferred her oblation from St. Benedict’s Monastery in Bakerstown, Pennsylvania to St. Placid Priory. After the ritual at Evening Praise on Sunday, June 28, Oblates and guests joined the Community for dinner. Learn more about becoming an Oblate.
