Time away is important for our spiritual selves. When we take the time to deepen our faith and our relationship with God, we become better people and a stronger congregation.
A silent retreat is purposeful discipline. Groups that have worked with us have provided a teaching at the introduction of the retreat, released the group to spend time on their own, and ended with a time for sharing experiences.
Consider how silence allows for a heightened sense of intimacy with God, helps the mind rest, settles emotions and lets the body relax.
Explore the uses of silence in everyday life. Learning to be more comfortable with silence brings greater spiritual freedom and better quality relationships.
Learning about a spiritual topic and having an opportunity to share personal experiences can be another way to enrich members of our congregations when they are on retreat.
You are welcome to bring someone to facilitate your guided group retreat or ask for assistance from a staff member of The Priory Spirituality Center for an added fee. If you’d like assistance from The Center, it is helpful to have some choices of topics or you may let the facilitator choose the topic.
